You’ve unlocked the Antiquities system in The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor, and now you can start scrying leads for new items and loot. How does Scrying work, and what are Leads? With this guide you’ll learn the answer to both question.

• Mournhold clockmaker is the kind of mod you do not need, but once you have it installed and seen in-game never want to miss again. It adds no significant functionality to the game - but a lot of eye-candy and athmosphere. There is a new shop in the Mournhold Craftsmen Hall, a clockmaker selling his work.
• Location: Muth Gnaar, Mournhold. NPC: Acolyte Krem. Reward: Ashlander's Honor, 173 gold. You'll find the NPC for this quest, Acolyte Krem, kneeling by a pair of bodies across the bridge leading into Muth Gnaar. You'll find the entrance to the monastery along the main road west to southwest of the Mournhold Wayshrine.

Scrying basics.

Mention 'transport to Mournhold,' tell her the truth about the Dark Brotherhood attacks, and she'll agree to teleport you to Mournhold. Once you get to Mournhold, ask around for more information.

You use Scrying to locate antiquities based on the Leads you have on hand. Leads can be found damn near everywhere – from world bosses, chests, public dungeons, delves, and within digsites of other antiquities – and these can all be viewed from your journal. Once you unlock the activity and the Scrying skill-line you should notice a new Antiquities tab at the top of your journal, now the second option available after quests.

Within this tab you’ll notice a section titled “Scryable”, followed by zone names below. The Scryable section is where you’ll find a list of all the Leads you have on hand that you can scry within the zone you are currently in. The sections for the zones below highlight what leads you have on hand for that particular zone, but you’ll need to head there first if you wish to dig up those Leads.

From the Scryable Section select the Lead you wish to unearth. At the start this will be the free green-quality Leads: these are the easiest Leads to scry, and are not locked behind your Scrying skill-line level. Once you are ready to hunt down a lead tap the Scry hotkey as displayed in the bottom-right of the screen to bring up the Scrying mini-game.

You’ll notice a whole bunch of grids (“facets”) covered in different icons and six glowing points. You’ll start from the central grid at the very bottom of the board (above your turn indicator), and the goal is to connect to all of the glowing points. If you miss a few you won’t fail the scry, but you will have to bumble about more digsites before finding the actual item. Connect them all and you will have only one digsite to deal with.

The trick is to click on grids connected to other grids with a matching icon. This will activate all of the matching icons adjacent to one another, and the goal is to connect to as many of the glowing points as possible before you run out of moves. This is pretty simple to do with green-quality leads, but as you climb the ladder netting all six glowing points will become more of a challenge. Thankfully, there are skills you can unlock as you level Scrying that make the task easier to accomplish.

First is the Coalescence skill: this will unite a hexagonal cluster of grids, turning all the grids within into the same icon as the central grid. The Dilation skill will claim all icons of the selected type that touch your area of control, in addition to any matching icons that are adjacent. Farsight will will allow you to claim a line of icons stretching out from your area of control.

You’re essentially playing a complex game of connect the dots. Connect the bottom-central grid you start at to as many of the glowing points as possible, and use the skills you have available to make the task easier. The freshly unleashed Update 16 brings with it a host of new content for those exploring Tamriel and Morrowind -- as well as any number of the thousands of other adventurers in The Elder Scrolls Online.

The Clockwork City DLC (available in-game for 2,000 crowns or in a deluxe edition with extras for 4,000 crowns) provides access to a completely new zone with additional dungeon delves, bosses, equipment, an extra trial, free pets for all players, and even a new transmutation system to swap item traits.

There's a pretty big question to answer before you can dive into all that awesome new content though: where exactly is the Clockwork City and how the heck are you supposed to actually get there?

How To Start The Clockwork City DLC

If you want to dive straight into the new quest line, you can do so directly at the Collections page without having to talk to any quest-giving characters. Navigate over to the Stories tab and then expand the DLC drop-down menu to see all the expansions you have installed.

Just choose the Clockwork City entry and then click 'Accept Quest' to get started. This leads you to the Brass Fortress area and starts your investigation into shadow assassins skulking about the bizarre mechanical city.

If you prefer to get the quest the old fashioned way and actually talk to NPCs in the game, go find Divayth Fyr's messenger in the building with the bank at Mournhold's City Center. There you can properly begin the quest line and get instructions on accessing Clockwork City.

Either way does the same thing: it's just up to you whether you want to travel to Mournhold first and talk to someone before starting the new DLC quests.

Starting the Clockwork City DLC quest

There are other ways to access the new zone directly, without starting the quest, however, which you'll need later if you want to return to the Clockwork City content.

After the update downloads, the Clockwork City zone will actually show up directly in the list of locations on your map, even if you haven't found it through any quests yet. You can recall straight to the wayshrine near the Brass Fortress for some gold just like with any other area.

Last up, its also possible to travel there if anyone you know has already found the new location. If anyone on your friends list or even a fellow guild mate is currently in the area, you can also just access the friends list or guild roster and travel directly to them that way. If you haven't done this before, you need to right-click the player's name and choose the travel option.
